Welcome to the CRCTU creel report. Most of you know Paul with TWRA that will sometimes ask the same questions as we are asking on our report. This is not by coincidence, I talked to Paul about his report and he shared information with me. This is not to take the place of Paul's report nor lessen the importance of the work he is and has been doing.
TU is a conservation organization first and foremost. As a Chapter we are wanting to do more projects in 2024 that will bring our Chapter inline with our mission statement.
It is very important that everyone understands that this creel report is just one of the projects that our Chapter is hoping to be a success. We are talking with TVA on conducting aquatic insect surveys in the river. Due to budget constraints, TVA does a complete "bug survey" every (5) five years. TVA personnel have already offered to help us with properly conducting a "level one" aquatic insect survey. With interested volunteers we hope to conduct surveys during 2024 so that we and the public will have more information about the health of our river. Lastly, with the help of volunteers, we hope to locate, identify and share information with the fishing community concerning "spawning reds" of Rainbow trout.
We feel that all of these projects are important and worthy of our efforts. You do not have to be a member of Trout Unlimited to volunteer with the "bug surveys" or with locating spawning areas "reds", but if you want to help you can contact me at [email protected].
